Raphael Ravenscroft (1954-2014)

EXETER, DEVONSHIRE, UK - I'm irritated because it's out of tune. Yeah, it's flat. By enough of a degree that it irritates me at best. Qualche anno dopo Gerry Rafferty è schiattato pure Raphael Ravenscroft, il tizio che ha registrato l'assolo di sax più famoso al mondo, quello della celeberrima Baker street. Oltre ad aver registrato il suddetto pezzo, per il quale fu (a suo dire) pagato una miseria, Ravenscroft ha pubblicato un album solista (dall'enigmatico titolo Her Father Didn't Like Me, Anyway) e ha lavorato con svariati altri artisti, dagli ABBA fino ad Alberto Fortis, nientemeno. Degna di nota è la sua partecipazione all'ultimo disco dei Pink Floyd, The Final Cut: suo il sax in The Gunner's Dream e Two suns in the sunset. link
