Lolita Lebròn (1919-2010)

SAN JUAN, PORTO RICO - Il primo morto agostino è lei, Dolores Lebrón Sotomayor, detta Lolita, indipendentista portoricana. E' famosa per aver organizzato l'attentato del 1954 al Campidoglio. All'epoca, lei e altri 3 connazionali riuscirono a entrare armati di pistole automatiche nel Campidoglio, fin dentro la Camera dei Rappresentanti, e a sparare circa 30 colpi, urlando "Viva Puerto Rico libre!" e ferendo 5 deputati statunitensi. Catturata, si fece ben 25 anni di prigione, fino a quando non fu graziata dal presidente Jimmy Carter. Tornata nel suo paese natio, continuò a fare casino a destra e sinistra: l'ultima volta che è stata arrestata è stato durante una manifestazione nel 2001, a 81 anni suonati. Pare stiano girando anche un film sulla sua vita, chiamato "1954", con Eva Longoria nei panni della Lebròn.
